“I start with tiny pencil drawings or with colour and pattern combinations of fabric. I then make these designs work in a specific space. I enlarge the drawings on craft paper which I then cut up. I use these shapes to trace on fabric.
I sew the individual pieces, layer upon layer, and finally sew them on the base cloth. This last phase of basting and sewing is the most difficult and where all the mistakes come suddenly alive!” Georgia Bettoja
