Vladimir Arkhipov was born in Ryazan in 1961. He currently lives in Moscow.
Since the 90s Arkhipov has been travelling around Russia and Europe, exploring people and collecting their self-made functioning objects. The objects he has found are made by everyday people, inspired by the desire to create something themselves because of their passion for the home-made or as a consequence of hard times. His collection consists now of thousands pieces and has been exhibited in England, Switzerland, France, Italy, Germany, Russia, Brazil, …
